Best 7 Midrange AV Receivers 2011
For the full home theater experience, you need an AV receiver. A sound bar or HTIB might get you close, but a true home theater enthusiast won't settle for less than a 5.1 speaker system and component-style AV receiver.
We've focused on the best bang-for-your-buck receivers from each manufacturer, which is typically around $500. You'll generally get at least four HDMI inputs, analog video upconversion, and 3D compatibility. If you don't need analog video upconversion, it's worth checking out the step-down models, which are usually significantly cheaper.
Of course, new 2011 electronic gadgets will be coming in a few months, but we don't expect any major product updates that will make these models obsolete.

The Onkyo HT-RC260 offers an extraordinary value for a receiver with six HDMI inputs, although its sound quality isn't what we expect from an Onkyo.
Denon AVR-1911 ($439.00 - $599.99)
The Denon AVR-1911 costs more than competitors and has fewer features, but its outstanding sound quality bests competing 7.1-channel AV receivers.
Sony STR-DN1010 ($449.99 - $599.99)
Sony's midrange AV receiver improves on its predecessor with new HDMI features like standby pass-through and 3D compatibility, but it lacks a compelling reason to pick it over its competitors.
Pioneer VSX-1020-K ($357.28 - $419.00)
Six HDMI inputs, easy iPod connectivity, and sweet sound quality make the tech gadgets Pioneer VSX-1020-K an excellent midrange AV receiver, although it's missing some minor HDMI features.

How can I take the back of harman kardon hk39 speakers?
I really need to remove the back panel off the subwoofer because there is something rattling around in there and I want to take it out. I have removed all the screws but I can't seem to get it off. Thanks for your help.
What you do is take the bass driver out from the front and access the inside that way....
